World Richest Football Clubs – Recently we have been looking at the football Money league. We have already looked at the World richest Footballers and World Richest Football managers and how much they’re worth. Today, we will be looking at the World richest football clubs in 2018 and their worth. Which clubs make up the list of top 20 richest football clubs in the world in 2018?

According to data from Deloitte Football Money League 2018, Manchester United is the richest Football club in the world. They pipped Spanish and European champions Real Madrid by a narrow margin. Madrid dropped their Spanish Rivals FC Barcelona from the number 2 position after retaining their UCL title being the first club to do so.

The Deloitte World richest football clubs list is based on the 2016/17 Revenue and calculated from both the clubs matchday earnings, Television right earnings as well as sponsorship deals. The list of World richest Football clubs in 2018 is dominated by the Premier League clubs with 10 English teams making the top 20 richest Football clubs in the world in 2018. The other spaces were filled by 3 Spanish teams, 3 Italian teams, 3 German teams and 1 French team.

Below is the current list of World richest football clubs as released by Deloitte and Forbes. Deloitte Football Money league only looks at the top 20 richest football clubs in the world and they include:

1:  Manchester United – £581.2 Million

For the second year running, Manchester United is topping the Football Money league. The English giants pipped Real Madrid and Barcelona once again to keep their place at the top of the football money league. Manchester United enjoyed a club record revenue of £581.2m in 2016-17, which is a £65.9m increase on the previous year in which the club’s revenue was £515.3. Manchester United makes most of their money from lucrative sponsorship deals. They also won the Europa League trophy which also helped their revenue to make them the richest Football club in the world.

2:  Real Madrid – £579.7 Million

Real Madrid is the second on our list of World richest football clubs in 2018. Real Madrid pipped La Liga rivals Barcelona to the number 2 spot this year. Despite the fact that Madrid retained the UEFA champions league trophy, they lost the top spot of the Football money league to Manchester United by a narrow Margin. The current worth 0f Real Madrid is £579.7 million. Madrid is the only club to have retained the UEFA Champions league since it was changed to the current format.

3:  FC Barcelona – £557.1 million

FC Barcelona is the 3rd richest football club in the world. They dropped a place in the Football Money League from second last year to third this year. Barcelona current worth is £557.1 million which is well above last years net worth of £463.8. Despite the significant increase in Barcelona’s revenue, the huge success of Real saw them drop from second to third in the Football money league. Barcelona parades some of the best footballers and football brands which has attracted a lot of sponsorship deals.

4:  Bayern Munich – £505.1 million

Germain giants, FC Bayern Munich is the no.4 in the list of top 20 richest football clubs in the world. Bayern Munich is ranked as the number one football club when it comes to generating commercial revenue. Last season, Bayern earned a whopping £295.1 million in revenue which is one of the best ever by a club.  Bayern’s revenue for the last year is £505.1 million to make them one of the world richest Football clubs. The Bavarians as they are popularly called, have now won the Bundesliga title for the 5th time running but has failed to maintain the same momentum on the European stage.

5:  Manchester City – £453.5 million

The sky blues have seen an upturn of fortune both on and off the pitch since their take over by the Abu Dhabi group. With a current worth of £453.5 million, Manchester City is the fifth richest football club in the world.  It is the second season running for Manchester City at the 5th spot in Deloitte’s Football money league.

6:  Arsenal FC –  £419 million 

Despite their failings in recent years, Arsenal is still holding their own among the World richest football clubs. The club has the most expensive match day tickets in England. Arsenal won their 3rd FA trophy in 3 years with their victory over Chelsea in the last seasons FA cup finals. Arsenal football club is Worth £419 million which keeps them at the no. 6 position in Deloitte’s football money league.

7: Paris Saint-Germain – £417.8 million

The French giant has a current worth of £417.8 million to be number 7 in the list of top 20 richest football clubs in the world in 2018. PSG is another club that has seen an upturn of fortune following a takeover by very rich Arab owners. Though they lost the Ligue one last season, they have remained dominant in Frech football. They recruited Brazillian poster boy Neymar for a world record transfer fee of €222 and also loaned Monaco forward Kylian Mbape with an option to buy. The two transfers clearly state that fact that they want to be among the best clubs in the world.

8:  Chelsea FC – £367.8 million

Chelsea football club has been one of the best clubs in Europe in recent history and is deservedly among the top 10 richest football clubs in the world right now. The club which currently worths £367.8 million and after winning the 2016-17 Premier League trophy as a host of new sponsorship deals flew in to swell their revenue the more.

9:  Liverpool FC – £364.5 million

Worth £364.5 million Liverpool is 9th among the world richest football clubs and a lot of this is owed to the club’s record overall revenue during 2017. Following a string of new signings in the summer, the club looks set to regain her place among the best European football clubs.

10:  Juventus – £348.6 million

This team is worth £348.6 million. They have made it through to the Champions League finals for the second time in three years losing on both occasions to Spanish teams but this has not affected the impressive revenue of the old ladies of Serie A to make them one of the World richest football clubs and the only Italian team to make the top 10 richest football clubs in the world. They have also won the Scudetto for a record sixth time in a row.
