American online retail giant Amazon has cancelled Hundreds of Amazon Prime accounts in the past few weeks. Hundreds of Amazon prime members affected said they were mysteriously locked out of their amazon prime accounts, without any explanation from Amazon.
Those affected by the amazon prime account deactivation no longer have access to any Amazon services including using devices like Amazon’s Kindle and Fire TV, Business Insider reports.
But Why did Amazon Cancel Some Amazon Prime accounts and leave others?
One the affected amazon prime customers who spoke with Business Insider said that she’s spent hours on the phone with Amazon and has only said she’s violated the company’s review policy, although no specifics were shared.
According to a report on Fortune, the company took the action only against those that violated their rules
“Amazon has taken action against bad actors and those who have violated our community rules, an Amazon spokesperson tells Fortune. “If any customers believe their account has been closed in error, we encourage them to contact us directly so we can review their account and take appropriate action.”

Some of the affected customers took to social media to express their anger: Here are some of the reactions of amazon prime account owners whom the company blocked their accounts;
Horrified that @amazon canceled my account w/out any notification. Been a Prime member since 2006, & an excellent customer. I have a GC credit on my account & thousands of books that I’m terrified that I’m going to lose access to. Movies, too.
Has this happened to anyone else??

I did just talk on chat. My account was canceled but they can’t tell me how i violated anything. I’ve used discount codes provided by sellers. That’s it. Very sad @Amazon will charge me, then close my account 2 days later???? 😡 I’m not happy pic.twitter.com/yq3hOqDcYu

Day 5 of @amazon not giving an explanation why after being a loyal shopper since 2006 they just canceled my account with no notice whatsoever right after they charge me $101 for #amazonprime. That makes total sense. What happened to my response back in 2-3 days?😬 #amazonfail

In a private Facebook group for customers that have been removed from the amazon prime service, many have claimed that they have no recollection of violating any of Amazon’s policies but a few amazon prime members have admitted to violating Amazon’s review policies, which include reviewing items they have received for free at a discount or leaving a positive review in exchange for a reward.
If you are among those who are very sure that you have not by any means violated Amazon rules and policies, you can go ahead and file a formal complaint as the company is willing to listen to such people. If you do succeed in recovering your amazon prime account, please do share your experience with us so that others can as follow your steps.
