Official: Unai Emery Confirmed as Arsenal New Coach – Arsenal football club has today confirmed the appointment of 46 years old former Sevilla and PSG manager Unai Emery as their new head coach. According to Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis, Unai Emery was the “unanimous” choice to “drive the next chapter” of Arsenal’s history after being confirmed as the club’s head coach,

Following the departure of Arsenal Wenger, Arsenal has been on a lookout for a replacement. Many former players were touted to be in pole position for the job with Former Midfielder and current Manchester City assistant coach reported to have come extremely close to the job before the majority of the Arsenal board members voted against his appointment.

The Spaniard also won four domestic cups with PSG, having previously guided Sevilla to three successive Europa League triumphs succeeds Arsene Wenger at Arsenal who has been in charge of Arsenal for the last 22 years having won three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups in the process.

Following the appointment of Unai Emery as Arsenal new coach, Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has this to say:

“Unai has an outstanding track record of success throughout his career, has developed some of the best young talents in Europe and plays an exciting, progressive style of football that fits Arsenal perfectly,” Gazidis added.

“His hardworking and passionate approach and his sense of values on and off the pitch make him the ideal person to take us forward.”

On his part, Arsenal new Coach, Unai Emery had this to say about his appointment:

“I’m very excited to be given the responsibility to start this important new chapter in Arsenal’s history,” said Emery.

“I am thrilled to be joining one of the great clubs in the game. Arsenal is known and loved throughout the world for its style of play, its commitment to young players, the fantastic stadium, the way the club is run.

“I’m excited about what we can do together and I look forward to giving everyone who loves Arsenal some special moments and memories.”

  • PSG: 1 Ligue 1 trophy, 2 Coupe de France trphies, and 2 Coupe de La Ligue 1 trophies.
  • Sevilla: 3 Europa league trophies won consecutively and Copa del Rey runners-up in 2015-16.
  • Individual Award: 2013-14 European coach of the season

Coaching Style: Takes lots of pleasure in drills and discipline. He likes his players pressing high, running a lot, attacking a lot, defending a lot, full backs bombing forward.
